I have been a Senior Consultant for Executive Action offering career consultancy to Middle, Senior and Board-level managers and CEOs for the past ten years. I also run a programme for younger people in their twenties and early thirties. I trained in Career Consultancy at the Tavistock Centre in Swiss Cottage, London.
My talk ‘Driven or Hounded?’ which explores the origins of our motivation to work was presented to the Innovatus Womens Networking Group (link) earlier this year. This is drawn from my book ‘The Petrified Ego: A new theory of conscience’ published in January 2014 by Karnac (link)
I run a clinical practice in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and hold a Doctorate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the Centre for Psychoanalytic Studies at the University of Essex and qualified as a Clinical Practitioner in 1996.
I am a trustee of the British Psychotherapy Foundation and registrant of the British Psychoanalytic Council. My first career was in the film industry, spending fifteen years in Film Production and Distribution for the British Film Institute and two years as Script Development Executive for Lenny Henry’s production company, Crucial Films.
